fishguard - lower town
Lower Fishguard was the location for the 1972 film 'Under Milk Wood' starring Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor.
Strumble Head Lighthouse
Standing on Ynys Meicle (St. Michaels Island), Strumble Head Lighthouse was built in 1908, electrified in 1965 and became fully automated in 1980. It is connected to the mainland by a small footbridge.
Carreg Sampson
Carreg Sampson is a neolithic burial chamber a short detour from the coast path
above Abercastle.
Porthgain
In the 19th Century, Porthgain was a thriving harbour exporting stone, slate and bricks. There was a slate quarry here and another one at nearby Abereiddy.
Blue Lagoon - Abereiddy
The blue lagoon at Abereiddy was formed when the former slate mine workings were flooded by the sea.
Whitesands Bay
Whitesands Bay is an award-winning, EEC Standard Blue Flag beach, extremely popular with families and surfers.
Lifeboat Station at St. Justinians
St Davids lifeboat station has been launching lifeboats for nearly 140 years.
Porthclais Harbour
Porthclais was once the cargo port for St. David's where supplies for the city (corn,
malt, wool, coal and timber) were imported. The harbour is now used by fishing and leisure boats.
Caerfai Bay
Caerfai is a sandy bathing beach with Seaside Award status, close to St. David's.
Solva Harbour
Another busy port in the 19th Century when Solva had 30 registered trading ships.
The harbour is now a popular boating centre.
Newgale
Newgale beach - a two mile stretch of golden sands, ideal for swimming, surfing,
windsurfing and sea fishing.
Nolton Haven
Nolton Haven - a sheltered sandy cove between Newgale and Broad Haven.
